Types of Extended Coverge
There are many types of extended coverage, so this is only a partial list. Your insurance broker should be able to go over the different types in more detail. But, for now, the types of extended coverage you might consider includes:
- Flood insurance if you live in an area prone to flooding. You may be particularly interested if you live near the coast because floods caused by hurricanes are usually not covered.
- Hailstorm insurance unless hail is explicitly covered by your basic homeowners policy (obviously particularly where hail is commonplace)
- Earthquake insurance because this is usually only partially covered, or even not at all by a conventional policy - Extended Title insurance is an extended coverage because there are many things not covered by basic title insurance policies
- Extended medical insurance policies cover illnesses and lengths of stay not covered by the basic medical or health care policy
- Extended dental insurance will help pay for some un- or partially covered dental surgeries
- Extended coverage policies that extend the length of a warranty, though it is important to research whether they are worthwhile.
These are just some of the extended coverage policies you may find beneficial to you or your family.
